Formally established in Sierra Leone in 2024, after a rigorous effort to register the organization, Boys & Girls Club Sierra Leone was founded by Prince Alusine Sesay and Martha Sellu. The inspiration to create this impactful organization came from the successful models of Boys & Girls Club of Ghana, Boys & Girls Club of America, Boys & Girls Club Liberia, and other youth clubs within the World Federation of Youth Clubs around the globe. With Prince Alusine Sesay residing in the United States and Martha Sellu in Canada, they have been working closely with a vibrant and dedicated team in Sierra Leone to ensure the success of Boys & Girls Club Sierra Leone. Their focus on career development, leadership skills, and holistic education has helped shape a generation of young people into confident, capable leaders of tomorrow.

A Pivotal Connection: The 2017 Catalyst for Boys & Girls Club Sierra Leone
CEO BGCSL : In 2017, the founder of the Boys & Girls Club of Ghana reached out to me, sparking the beginning of our journey to create a positive impact for the youth in Sierra Leone. This pivotal connection laid the foundation for what would become Boys & Girls Club Sierra Leone.
Laying the Groundwork: The Journey to Establishing Boys & Girls Club Sierra Leone in 2022
In 2022, I connected with key individuals in Sierra Leone to help register and establish Boys & Girls Club Sierra Leone. Together, we worked on setting up the club, including managing the ICT aspects and designing the logo, to ensure a strong foundation for our mission to empower the youth in Sierra Leone.
Our Official Launch: Establishing a Strong Foundation for Youth Empowerment in 2024
In 2024, Boys & Girls Club Sierra Leone was officially registered with all required agencies and licensed to operate as an NGO. We also assembled a strong, dedicated team of staff and volunteers, committed to making a positive impact on the youth of Sierra Leone.
